Eleanor Katrine Whitcombe, known professionally as Eleanor Witcombe, was a prominent Australian writer celebrated for her contributions to theatre, radio, television, and film. Born in 1923, she adapted significant literary works, including “My Brilliant Career” and “Seven Little Australians.” Recognised as a passionate advocate for writers’ rights, she received the Order of Australia in 2014.
